If you love slow cooking with acidic foods such as wine, citrus juice, or tomato sauce, the enameled version could be the better option. If you go on camping trips, leave your expensive enameled pans behind and pick the traditional cast iron instead. Enameled cast iron is versatile and can be used to marinate and refrigerate foods but the enamel coating may chip without proper care. Both of them are equally good and it very depends on what you need.
